Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I was using SAP Business Technology Platform for one of the big 4 companies, which was my client. SAP Business Technology Platform was used as database management tool and analytics to which they were migrating from their legacy system. We used HANA, CRM applications, SD Applications, Time and Expense module, and Finance and controlling modules.
I was aligned with the integration team, where we were trying to implement the SAP products into the company's ERP system, and we were also converting the entire company's legacy system based on SAP Business Technology Platform globally.
By using the SAP Business Technology Platform, we were actually shifting from on-prem systems to cloud-based systems which made data pretty much controllable globally, and the maintenance of the physical system at office data centers has reduced.

Pros and Cons

It has many different tools integrated into the suite, which helps to create a smooth user experience with all connected apps and interfaces.
It has the analytics embedded system, which will helps us in generating user-friendly reports with the help of tons of raw data.
It adheres to regulatory compliances of data security and data management as per the country and company's policy.
It minimizes operational costs as cloud systems are handy and readily available to use.

Scaling is one thing that I feel is not up to the mark if we implement this tool in big organizations.
Cost structure is on the expensive side as many competitors are there with cost effective solutions.
We need specially trained personnel to use the tool, but for competitors, it is not the case as they have user-friendly interfaces with simple and AI implemented workspace, which helps us automating the usage of the tool.

Return on Investment

It has saved the costs in terms of maintaining on-prem systems
It has a good ecosystem within the apps which makes the integration work simpler and faster
It has an in-built analytics tool which will help in rendering quick reports based on the requirement from the leadership
It has good connectivity options with out of SAP applications which are very important to have as per industry standards

Usability

I have given this rating because of three things
1. Saved time in the integration of different systems across the organization for different works applications
2. Faster report generation
3. Easily accessible data across the globe with data security compliances which gives confidence to the brand and makes us secure as an organization

Support Rating

I had a couple of issues earlier in the integration part, but when I contacted the support team, they were able to guide and support me at their earliest without keeping me waiting for long. TAT was pretty much good.

SAP Business Technology Platform is a cool tool where we can get an entire suite with many embedded systems such as AI, Analytics, IoT, and many more along with the base modules, which are very much necessary for the company to implement for all the ERP related work. This has proved to very time-saving step for the company and being on the cloud with the data security compliances it is a risk free software suite with which we can access the data globally without maintaining on-prem systems.

Training people to use SAP systems is an additional cost for the company with which I feel if the user interface is little more user-friendly then it is the perfect tool to be implemented in any of the company for their end to end needs.
