Overall Satisfaction with SAP Crystal Reports

It is being used across the organization to access and disseminate data to end users. It is used for routine reports.
  • Can make a report very visually appealing
  • Can access data from different sources
  • Can write SQL directly for data pulls
  • Writes inefficient SQL
  • Needs more robust cross tabs

  • SQL Server Reporting Services
It is good for basic report writers for more simple to moderate requests. It can have graphs and cross tabs that can start the analytical process for the user.
It is good for basic data and to make pretty reports. It is also preferred for users with limited SQL skills. I prefer SSRS because it is more efficient in terms of gathering and publishing the data.
