Overall Satisfaction with SAP Customer Data Solutions (formerly Gigya)

* Identity and access management of end-users/ customers for webshop and app (B2C).
* Planned: Identity and access management for sellers (B2B).
* Planned: Customers can manage their consents for newsletters, etc.
* Planned: Customer data platform to create a single customer profile.
  • Good integration in SAP world, in particular SAP Commerce Cloud.
  • Fast introduction of new features.
  • Mostly well documented.
  • B2B add on - in particular its integration - has room for improvement.
  • Some heavy bugs in new console which should have been fixed before go live.
  • Easier registration in web shop.
  • Increased security for registration and login/ more trust in brand.
  • Easier Integration of authentication for 3rd party.
We had only very limited complete outages (planned and unplanned). The last console update had some major bugs which could have been prevented. We had to create quite a lot of tickets for the new CDP.
OAuth and Octa were two possible alternatives. We decided on CDC mainly for the good integration with other SAP products.

SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP CRM, SAP Integration Suite (formerly SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite)
+ Very easy integration with SAP Commerce Cloud.
+ Standard protocol like SAML and OIDC which allow integration with most modern applications.
+ Helps to build a customer profile where customers can manage their personal details and consents.
