Overall Satisfaction with SAP ERP

We use SAP for production planning, financial analysis and forecasting, and inventory management. Different transactions are used by people in the entire organization depending on business need. It's also used for logistics planning.

Pros

  • Integration of physical inventory movements and financial results
  • Financial planning reports
  • Product costing modules and analysis

Cons

  • Requires IT involvement to customize or edit reports
  • Not very intuitive - requires in-depth training to use properly
  • SAP allows us to run a multi-national operation with overseas shipping and receiving
  • SAP allows us to consolidate financials across the globe to see a full picture of operational performance
SAP is greatly superior to JD Edwards. JD Edwards was a manual, clunky system that didn't work well with other locations that were using SAP.
Once you learn how to use SAP ERP, it becomes a powerful tool for analysis and inventory management.
SAP ERP is great for manufacturing companies dealing with inventory, BOMs, backflushing material in production.
