Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
It is currently being used for our BW systems to facilitate report generation for users. We are currently engaged in a suite on HANA migration to move our ECC, EWM, and SCM systems to HANA as well.
- The in-memory database is much faster than the traditional databases we are migrating from.
- The tenant approach helps us efficiently utilize our hardware.
- The administration tools are getting better, easing our transition to HANA.
- Vendor support is improving, but that is where many of our hiccups have been.
- The end-user community for BW reports has been very happy. We anticipate end-users for our transactional system to be as happy after SoH.
We use it for BW reporting, and execution times have dropped considerably.
This has not impacted us yet, however, we are having discussions on how to implement so calculations are run directly on the HANA database.
Our evaluation has not completed. However, we will likely remain on HANA in the cloud and are developing a strategy to go to S/4.
