Overall Satisfaction with SAP Portfolio and Project Management

SAP Portfolio and Project Management is used across the whole organization. As we are using SAP ERP system for all our logistic and finance related transactions, we used SAP Portfolio and Project Management for handling all existing and new projects across the organization. This is quiet well integrated for SAP environment.

  • Can get project performance and KPI reports on live project status.
  • Low cost for implementation if you already have SAP environment.
  • Not convenient for non-SAP environment.
  • Sometime slower depends on SAP system load and version.
  • Little confusing for new users.
  • Easy to use for experienced user. Inexpensive if organization already use SAP environment.
  • KPI and Reporting is excellent.
  • Scheduling meetings and recording is not that great.
  • Lot of additional and unique features for complex project and portfolio management.
For already existing and green field SAP project the SAP Portfolio and Project Management is the best product for handling projects. Sending and importing data and information is efficient using this software. You can communicate with other project members using this product environment. This works great with complex and bigger projects. Other software like Microsoft Project, ProjectLibre are also good products but [inconvenient] for SAP environment.
This product is very customer-centric and solution-based for SAP Project Management. It has very good web-based UI. Portfolio and Project Management in one single platform which is very rare in different project management products. Effective tool to manage projects, portfolios, budget and schedule. KPI and Reporting is one of the best features of this product.

Once SAP Portfolio and Project Management is configured then it is easy to use. Initial configuration and enabling additional features is time consuming. The best advantage of this software is that it allows us to manage multiple projects and multiple teams at same time. File uploads and download is very easy. KPI and status report can present with live data. Scheduling meeting and recording is not that great with this software.
