Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

I used SAP S/4HANA Cloud as an internal product to create initial documentation around the configuration and the initial go-live of the product. We use these documents later on for actual implementation on our various customers. I found the offering very useful and easy to start with. Especially for newer customers who don't have exposure to SAP and want to start with one of the products, this one is the central piece they can begin with. SAP S/4HANA Cloud is highly customizable and can be configured for various clients, from small businesses to large multinational organizations. Overall I found it is a nice product.

Pros

  • Encapsulate all the complexity of owning the product.
  • Highly customizable to fit any business size.
  • Good for new clients as well as existing ones who want cloud benefits.

Cons

  • Archiving
  • Combined reporting of archived and live data
  • Performance is good but its a never ending journey
  • Total cost of ownership is reduced not only in terms of actual money but in managing it
  • Management is simpler
  • Downtime management is streamlined
SAP S/4HANA Cloud is a good as a single central source of truth as SAP always promised. It can work with many different SAP products, making this integration seamless. Solution managers can be used for monitoring this along with other on-premises solutions.
Features are basically the first criteria for deciding on a product.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud is good for customers moving all the modules to SAP but not for the ones who still use legacy systems or different databases. Sometimes integration is a challenge, especially with non-SAP products. Ariba integration is good, but it is slow in performance; I've seen other solutions which have better user interaction compared to Ariba cloud.
