Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

We use SuccessFactors as the main source of HR Data in our company. We still replicate HR data to SAP for use by our payroll system, but we are slowly transitioning away from SAP (payroll will probably be the last thing to go).

SuccessFactors addresses problems faced by many large companies in that it helps to manage many people with differing needs (by country, state, region, group, talent level, organization, etc.) For example, I support the LMS and being able to set up different security domains, security groups, roles, administrators, libraries, etc. makes it much easier to manage learning for our 14,000+ employees.

One of the best uses of EC data for myself and my coworker is to use it in Cloud Platform Integrations to provide our third party vendors with necessary data. One thing I would improve about CPI is the monitoring process -- it is difficult to navigate and track down specific issues, as well as know when a process is failing.

Pros

  • Cloud Platform Integrations
  • Houses HR data
  • PMGM

Cons

  • Recruiting -- very obtuse and difficult to just "figure out"
  • Onboarding -- same as above
  • Integration Center seems intuitive but is also pretty clunky. It could be the way our EC data is set up, but a lot of times when I try to apply filters to an integration, they are simply ignored. It has stumped our consultants as well.
  • Less work for HR business personnel (personnel organization management)
  • Faster employee recruiting/onboarding
  • Easier/faster learning management
Every integration we've done that I've been a part of (WorkForce Time and Attendance, Benefitfocus, Sedgwick FMLA, all of the things we've used Integration Center for) has been riddled with problems that can only be solved by consulting experts. Again, this could be anecdotal, but it is a struggle every single time.
Have not really gone global yet with anything but EC/Learning.

Do you think SAP SuccessFactors delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SAP SuccessFactors's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP SuccessFactors live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP SuccessFactors go as expected?

No

Would you buy SAP SuccessFactors again?

Yes

One of the best use cases for SuccessFactors is when you have a large/diverse group of employees that need to be managed. The bigger, the more useful it would be. Although I could also see an argument to be made for smaller organizations using it as well. Initial configuration for a smaller organization would be easier to set up and maintain.
