Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

We use SAP SuccessFactors to address all the following business needs: Support all business cases related to hiring, rehires, transfer, concurrent, global, local assignments, concurrent, and terminations. Support HR community with integration needs through our landscape (subsidiary countries). With data integration solutions for acquisitions/divestments. Support ERP and non-ERP integrations with SAP. Support data imports and exports
  • Support US local needs
  • Support central repository for our employees across the world
  • support out of the box integrations with local ERP systems
  • Custom Integrations with all our local countries
  • Overlapping date data somehow is created in tables
  • Missed data transmission to receiving systems during large imports - custom interfaces
  • Allowed UI updates and Integration API differences
  • HR productivity
  • Automation of task
  • Flexibility
Some of the out of the box integration does not work in all scenarios -Workforce - if you don't have all the portlets maintained from Hire date
Very important - especially related to payroll and time issues for particular states
Implementation was smooth.
We had some challenges in the first year with properly integrating it with our IDM system.
Bringing changed photo from Azure AD into Successfactors is another challenge
We have inbuilt knowledge with SAP ERP systems. Out of the box Integration was a big reason Successfactors was chosen with our SAP ERP landscape

Evaluating SAP SuccessFactors and Competitors

Yes - SAP ERP - Encourage by SAP. This allowed us to also start using Employee Central Payroll - as Successfactors HR data source
  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
Global source for HR data that can feed all connected systems - payroll, finance etc
Waited for couple of years - for the product to evolve and more stable

SAP SuccessFactors Implementation

- Getting better as the product improves
- Out of the box integration don't always work
  • Third-party professional services
Deloitte
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - We were already on a global HR system before moving to Successfactors - so change management was not bad
  • Data integration - SAP - especially IT0001
  • Issues with updating data - without picklist values

SAP SuccessFactors Support

Could be better. Initial response from SAP to a ticket is slow.
GDPR also comes in the way. US is not impacted but the data centers that houses our Sf is in Europe
ProsCons
Kept well informed
Escalation required
Need to explain problems multiple times
Slow Initial Response
Yes- We have premium support. We are a large customer of SAP products
Yes - One was promised to be fixed in the last release and it was promised again now to be fixed in this release (Distorted photo when uploaded through API)
When we hit the initial limit of 50 integration center jobs - they quickly increased the limit.
Good support during the new Data Center move last year- Frankfurt data center
