Overall Satisfaction with Sauce Labs

We used Sauce Labs as part of our CI/CD pipeline and test automation. We used it for Browser/Platform farm Mobile device/platform/app farm.
  • Provides a comprehensive selection of browser and platform versions for test automation and CI/CD pipeline support
  • Provides a rich selection of browser/platform availability for customer issue reproduction
  • Provides a comprehensive set of virtual mobile device configurations for automation and availability
  • Sauce Labs' SaaS and self service tools work and perform well
  • Mobile app state persistence without using real devices
  • More cost-efficient mobile push notification capability
  • Lack of VPC integration
  • availability of browser/platform versions
  • availability of device/platform versions
  • scalability and performance
  • Provides good lab for automation and provides this service without having required on-premise lab and staff
  • Keeps up to date with the latest versions for browsers and platforms
  • Has access to some devices not available in the US (like Huawei).
  • The cost for using real devices is high
  • Perfecto Scriptless (formerly TestCraft)
Sauce Labs is comparable and we were more familiar with it. I think both works well and in some cases, Perfecto was easier to use since our customer used it and had scenarios already created. Various staff members in our org have used Sauce Labs over the years, and in cases where our internal automation grid and browser/platform farm were not sufficient (i.e. did not have the needed version), Sauce Labs had it. Sauce Labs also is easier for an individual to use in the sense that it is self-service and you do not have to coordinate or request help from the automation lab staff.

Do you think Sauce Labs delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sauce Labs's feature set?

Yes

Did Sauce Labs live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Sauce Labs go as expected?

No

Would you buy Sauce Labs again?

No

Access to specific devices is good, as well as access to a specific browser/platform. We are not able to connect our dev environments to Sauce Labs because the devices are put in our VPC. Some versions are not available like iPhone with iOS 12.1. With iOS, there is limited/no support for push notifications without real devices due to Apple's provisioning profiles.
