Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing Platform

We needed to maintain an on-premises presence for our current business processes. Our aging hardware was starting to show issues, and we were looking for an inexpensive solution while we considered our long-term goals and evaluated our processes accordingly.
  • Inexpensive hardware and footprint.
  • Easy to spin up and get running.
  • Very little downtime migrating guests.
  • Needs better breakdown of resources used.
  • Needs better logging.
The support team deserves major props for how cordial and professional they were with our implementation. We were assigned a project manager and engineer. Everything was scheduled with our kick-off call, and our engineer got us up and running in no time.
In our situation, we were looking for an inexpensive solution to replace our aging hardware. We have no plans to expand our current implementation; however, from what I understand it's very easy to do so. Scale's HCI allowed us to consolidate all our racked equipment down to 2U, and we have not had any performance issues.
  • Reduced onprem footprint and power consumption.
  • Hardware and licensing savings of up to 30%.
I can't speak to large organizations however Scale seems like the perfect fit for small to medium size organizations. We could not justify the cost of VMWare with our needs, and the uncertain future of Hyper-V led us to pick Scale.

Scale Computing seems to be a good solution for small to medium size organizations. I can't speak to large organizations and how well it supports scaling with their resources. For our case, we considered VMWare, HyperV, Scale, and others. We were initially going to choose Hyper-V; however, with the rumors of it being discontinued, we with Scale due to its price and ease of management.
