Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic SL1
We used it as the AIOps platform to do the proactive monitoring. In addition to that, we are also tied into our ServiceNow. It is used by the department and expanding to BU. The main focus of the ScienceLogic is to provide monitoring in a relationship, this gives the team the opportunity to quantify a lot of gaps that we had before.

Yes - Zenoss. We have a service contract that is expiring with Zenoss and that the team who maintains the product is also under dissolution. SL1 was used by another team for a smaller scale for almost 5 years hence this was chosen to be the tool. The other reason is because Cisco uses it also.
Yes we have changed due to a unified view of the data. This is now the big data for us. We are still under deployment at this moment as we are very new in the game within Canada. At this point, I cannot tell you if that is the case, but we do see some progress on it already.
Capacity management on BW and port utilization are the key items. We are able to focus on some of the requirement such as ports capacity measurement on a 5 min interval. The overall exercise of SL1 is to allow us to see the bottleneck at various locations of data traffic.
At this point, we are still in the progress of integrating with ServiceNow. The process wasn't great as that maturity from SL1 isn't there. We are still looking at making things better with the promises from the SL1 Engineering department. However there is always a starting point for every goal that we want to accomplish.
- Dashboard calculation
- iTSM data
- New Integration system
- Zenoss Cloud
There are many competitors out there. Mainly because Cisco uses them and we are a 90% Cisco Shop. In addition to that, we have used it in a much smaller scale system for the last 5 years which means that we are getting better at what we know about Sl1.
