Overall Satisfaction with Screenhero

I use Screenhero almost daily to perform pair programming sessions with my colleagues. Screenhero is being used within my team for the purpose of sharing coding sessions and also getting work done while collaborating together new ideas and programming techniques.
  • Screen and mouse/keyboard input sharing is the best I saw in any product in the market.
  • Voice call ability while screen sharing.
  • Very easy setup process. Only register an account and immediately start sharing sessions and working with your team.
  • Video calling is not available.
  • Mac version works well but I couldn't do a successful installation on a Linux machine.
  • When having multiple screens on your computer, and you switch focus from one to another during a screen-sharing session, the shared screen remains on the first screen. This made it hard to work on MacOS's multiple desktops.
  • Screenhero allowed us achieve our goals of finishing programming tasks faster than if done individually without sharing sessions.
  • Screenhero also made it possible for us to interview new candidates on the team and work with them closely to see their skills hands-on.
  • The absence of a video showing the attendees of a sharing session makes it harder to see who's in the session (meeting) but the ability for everyone to have voice and input from their mouse/keyboards is more important.
  • First month is free which was good for us to evaluate the tool before using it (didn't need to commit financially to the tool before making sure it fits our culture and need).
Screenhero is the best product in screen sharing quality and ability of all users to provide mouse and keyboard inputs to the session. We can use any account. It is definitely lighter on client computer's memory. Screenhero is easy to install and can accept any email address to register. However, unlike Hangouts and Skype, chat while in session is not available. Also, there is no way to record a Screenhero session, unlike Hangouts. But in summary, Screenhero is a good tool if you and your team want to do pair programming reliably.
Screenhero is lightweight, easy to install, and achieves the main purpose of sharing screens and preforming sessions among different remote users where the all can use their own mouse/keyboard as if they are each working on their computers locally. Voice quality is reliable. However, the absence of having a video for all members of the sessions adds a layer of inconvenience sometimes, especially when the purpose of a screen-sharing sessions is to both work together and attend a meeting. In my team we compensate for the missing video by using Google Hangouts.
