Overall Satisfaction with Semrush

We use Semrush in a couple of different ways. First to qualify prospects by identifying what keywords are driving traffic to their websites and where there are areas of opportunity for SEO for those prospects. We also use it to research keywords, difficulty, and what features of Google are associated with that particular keyword so that we can create content that will rank on Google.
  • Keyword research: Enter any term and get all keywords and questions associated with it.
  • Historical trends: You can easily see how a site has fared over time.
  • Competitors' research: See how sites stack up against one another in the digital ecosystem.
  • So many features: It can be a little overwhelming and I know that I'm not using the tool to its fullest extent
  • Can be a little bit tricky to get out of Semrush once you're in.
  • Can only break down search traffic by country, not state.
  • Keyword magic tool
  • Domain overview
  • SERP features
  • Being able to quickly identify if a client will be a good fit for us prevents us from wasting time.
  • We are able to choose content ideas that have lower KD% so that we can rank faster.
  • We can show our partners the progress we've made in rankings and the overall value of the traffic we're driving.
I believe that both tools offer valuable insights into the digital ecosystem and both are tools that marketers really need to have access to. Semrush was the first SEO tool I really got to know when I started doing digital marketing, and it will probably be a tool I use for many years to come.

Do you think Semrush delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Did Semrush live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Semrush go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Semrush again?

Yes

I spend quite a bit of time in Semrush when I'm trying to diagnose whether or not a business is a good fit for our services. Prospects are always shocked to see their positioning for high volume discovery search terms, which 9 times out of 10 are pretty poor. I especially like the keyword magic tool which shows what questions are associated with the topic I'm looking into so we can identify which long-tail keywords to target.
