Overall Satisfaction with Siemens NX CAD

Siemens NX CAD is mainly used by us o draw and archive 3d and 2d technical drawings of tooling and product assemblies. For example testing tools for plastic products, we engineer and produce. Tooling can also be composed of many sub-components. We also need to manage 3d assemblies to create exploded drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Modeling
  • The thing that I need to keep all the parts, usually in common with other assemblies, in the same folder is very uncomfortable if I need to revise a single component.
  • I would prefer to have 1 file for each part and just select it when needed. (with Solidedge this is possible).
  • Siemens NX CAD made much faster studying and modeling tooling and product assemblies
Because even after a few years I still find it easier to use, customize and set other programs such as Solidedge or Solidworks.
Siemens NX CAD was useful in the designing process in the same way any other 3d modeling software would have been. For a matter of a collaborator using Siemens NX CAD, we have chosen this software.
I find DraftSight as a pure 2d integration of Siemens NX CAD. They don't collide, they are useful for different needs.

Do you think NX CAD delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with NX CAD's feature set?

Yes

Did NX CAD live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of NX CAD go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy NX CAD again?

No

Even after years of using it I still find it more user-friendly and easy to customize and use programs such as Solidedge or Solidworks. The things that I cannot order constraints in an assembly are uncomfortable. The thing is that if I delete a function while modeling a component the error message never goes away, even if I correct and refresh is uncomfortable.
