Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business

Used by all of the company, practically the only way to
communicate with colleagues not in your room. we use it all the time for chats,
audio calls, online meeting, and also as the organizational directory app.
  • the sound quality became really good recently, if using good hardware (mic and earphones)
  • very good integrated with M's Outlook
  • for the top 80% or so of the tasks - it is easy to use and you get it to do what you need - fast
  • for the other 20% of the tasks that one may need from time to time - the UX became not intuitive (even challenging)
  • the UI isn't customize-able, so you cannot remove info you don't need, to make room for info which is more important and you might want to see better
  • still on UI - you cannot organize the buttons in a way that will work best for you (e.g. the "tag" option is very useful for me, but it is not easy to get to it)
  • In my opinion the most important is that it makes communication - globally - easy and quick, that helps a lot. I cannot comment about the investment side.
  • Lynnc
Previously with had Lynnc, which had issues in on line meetings ,and wasn't as rich in features, I think.
If you need a handy tool to find people in your organization, and quickly communicate with them - Skype for Business works fine. It is just there, as a floating app or as an Outlook pane, and you can find people, trigger an email/call/chat, or see some basic info on them. For big meetings though, let's say webinars, people in my organization tend to use other tools.
