Overall Satisfaction with Slack

We have many channels to use for different topics or different clients to help communicate and share information that doesn't need to be in our project management system and allows us to keep email somewhat clean and manageable. It allows anyone to go back and review past content, only be on the groups that are relevant to them and find the history of what was discussed. Plus it's fun!
  • Keeps different threads separate very well, can join relevant threads/groups
  • Imbeds articles or notes
  • Can direct message a person or have a private group
  • Sometimes hard to find certain settings
  • A bit hard to figure out how to join initially
  • Customize features
  • Keeps communication streamlined
  • Better efficiency of time
  • More knowledgable staff as information is always available
Way easier to separate conversations on Slack, direct at people and search topics and conversations. Much more efficient.
I think Slack has the flexibility to be used by almost any group large or small as you can tailor it to your situation in most cases. You can take notes in meetings then post them to the group thread for later reference so if someone isn't at a meeting they can catch up quickly.

Using Slack

It's very intuitive and easy to use. Where you think something will be is where it is located. Groups and private chats are easy, tagging is basic, emoji's are fun and easy. Really not too much is difficult.
