Slack! All amazing items in a single package.
Overall Satisfaction with Slack
At our current workplace, we are connected to two teams via Slack. One is our own and the other is of a Fortune 50 company which also uses Slack. So Slack as a whole is used by the entire company and also customers/clients we interact with on a day-to-day basis. The primary business need being staying connected with colleagues and also collaborating on work is what makes Slack great software to use on a daily basis.
- Multiple channels/groups for a specific purpose.
- Excellent functionality for code snippets.
- When pasting a large code snippet it hangs and has to be force closed.
- Video calls can be improved by giving more functionality like pass control and so on.
- Positive impact as it has helped in getting things done on time.
- Also reduces the need for other apps.
Like the apps mentioned above, Slack takes a big chunk of the features from all of them and gives all of them to a customer in a full package without the need to use another app to meet the same requirement. Slack in a way has reduced dependency on the apps mentioned above and made our workplace more productive and our computers with less redundant software.

Slack Feature Ratings
Using Slack
All employees of the organisation use Slack, business functions from HR, Marketing and Engineering are all active users of Slack and all members of the respective groups stay in contact with their team members to collaborate and also get things done within all project deadlines. The teams have daily stand up meetings to discuss progress so far and so plan ahead for the future. A full-on collaboration tool.
We don't have any employees for on-prem Slack support as the application is pretty intuitive to play around and use with ease. We have never faced a scenario wherein we were unable to use the application, it's fairly stable and useful.
- Collaboration.
- Meetings.
- Function-based groups.
- Security to make sure messages and discussions are locked.
- To use more for calling.
- If possible, live coding interpreters.
Evaluating Slack and Competitors
Yes - Slack has replaced one freeware and also a paid application respectively, we used Skype for chat and Cisco Webex for meeting and since Slack has both of them in one, we've decided that it's the application that can handle things and it hasn't disappointed when it comes to solving our use case. We couldn't be happier with Slack.

The product features,
1. Multiple teams.
2. Thread for a specific chat item.
3. Multiple user video calling.
4. Apps integration.
These are just a few things that come to top of my mind, however there are more features which make Slack a standout app for an organisation and is a must-use to be productive.
