Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager

In the Technology building we give access to all techs to access IPAM. This allows easy access to verify if an IP address is currently used, what machine is using it, and if there are any free IPs in a given subnet. This is an amazing tool when looking for a static IP to give a new Printer and such.
  • Search for a given IP address
  • Look in a subnet of IPs
  • Find free addresses in a range
  • An easy way to update the range, in case there were recent additions
  • Better polling of device names
  • Easy way to ping an address
  • Made it much easier for a technician to look up information on their own
  • Free up the specialists to do hight job functions
It is a solid product, and works well, but there are times when you are looking for just a little extra.

Would you buy SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM) again?

Yes

Great to do quick lookups in a range or subnet. Holds old names so if a system is powered off, you can still see it. On the same note, sometimes it take a while for a device to fall off the list. Would like IPAM to match with DHCP to refresh scopes and clear out old systems that have been powered off or removed.
