Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

We currently use IPAM to manage the VLAN for over 40 sites. We utilize the tool with servers, users, and VOIP VLANs.

Pros

  • Automatically updates subnet usage.
  • Integration with DNS.

Cons

  • Integration with other products could be simpler but isn't bad.
  • IPAM has eliminated production outages due to conflicts, increasing productivity.
Like most of SolarWinds products, there is a delay in turning in a support ticket and get a call or email back from support. The back and forth with email support can take some time as well. Most of the time we only received one reply per day. Support is average with other vendors.

SolarWinds IP Address Manager is the best product I've used to manage IP addresses. It really simplifies IP control. IPAM has a very intuitive interface and is easy to use. IPAM easily intergrades with DHCP and DNS. My team is able to scan subnets to help eliminate conflicts and troubleshoot problems within the environment. IPAM has become a very relied on tool for my team.
