Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

We are using it to manage our company's ips. It works well and also lets us know if the device is online or not. Makes it a lot easier than maintaining a spreadsheet.
  • Keeps tracks of all IP ranges you set up.
  • Lets you know when a device is online or not.
  • Ability to reserve IPs and label it so you know what it is for.
  • Security breach has us worried.
  • Faster interface would be nice.
  • Entire Orion platform has a lot of customizations and it can easily scare a person that is new to it.
  • Takes less time to find a free IP address to use.
  • No real negative, just wish the interface loaded faster.
  • Takes out the guessing game.
I haven't used any of the other products listed but SolarWinds have been great for what I use it for.

SolarWinds Dameware Remote Support (DRS), SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm), ConnectWise Manage
IPAM will be well suited in an environment that has over 50 network devices in my opinion. More than that, it will be very difficult to keep track of all the IPs used in the environment. I came from spreadsheets and pinging devices to see if they are used and using IPAM takes that work out of it. Pretty happy with it.
