Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA)
We use it to monitor what applications are flowing across our router and firewall interfaces and to track traffic volumes.
- Good graphics
- Easy to implement
- Easy for non-technical staff to view
- NTA has a requirement that it run on the same server [as] Orion. This prevents us from scaling horizontally and to not have all SolarWinds services running on the same server.
- Interface utilization information is difficult to determine
- Difficult to have hard numbers, we use it [for] troubleshooting and trending.
We use both products. Splunk is primarily for log analysis and NTA for flow analysis.
