Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor is used across the organization to monitor the network and server infrastructure. We are a 7x24 processing shop and uptime is critical. The monitoring and statistics are critical to maintaining high service levels to our operations. VMS operates in a multi-datacenter environment with development, testing, production, and recovery environments. SolarWinds allows our staff to stay ahead of capacity and scalability for the entire infrastructure. Real time alerts and status reports are key components that allow fast response to issues, and help plan changes, improvements, and upgrades.
- Immediate notification alerts when connectivity or usage thresholds are exceeded. The reliability and consistency of the process is key to providing support.
- Detailed information provided in a variety of formats. Allows various groups to review data in formats that work best for them and are clear and easy to use.
- The ability to create groups that reflect our infrastructure. Allow support personnel to get an immediate view of status of a particular set of network and/or server equipment.
- Alert management capability. Great ability to manage alerts during maintenance periods.
- Continue to enhance the UI ease of use. The format and ease of finding information is good but continuous improvements are useful.
- Allows a higher quality systems support function. Better knowledge by the team of the state of operations.
- Higher uptime/availability. Fast notification of problems and quicker ability to pinpoint root causes means faster resolution.
- IT procedures and documentation of processes are facilitated by a comprehensive monitoring solution.
- Objective capacity measurements are critical to planning and review of infrastructure requirements. These provide the knowledge to aid in determining the equipment that is needed and allows proper capital planning.
We believe Solarwinds offers high quality products at competitive prices. The capability and quality of the product have met or exceeded our needs. VMS does periodic reviews of alternatives and has not found a compelling reason to move to another product offering.
