Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
We provide logistic services on our hosted machines and our clients rely on fast, responsive data communications to get their orders processed and shipments sent out. All of our systems are monitored by SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor in multiple data centers to alert any issues that need to be remediated. Any delay in application response can be an early warning of larger issues that could lead to downtime. By having enterprise level monitoring we can address minor issues before they become adverse to business SLAs.
- Automatically map devices to bring team members, upper management and clients up to speed quickly on all potential fault points we watch out for.
- Many out of the box tools and settings ramp up the installation for a fresh environment in a half a day and is very flexible for special case configurations after initial rollout.
- Smart thresholds for capacity forecasting for alerts and timely reporting.
- Active Directory integration for easier user management.
- Alterations of reports would be handy to adjust false alarms, incorrect labeled items and marked scheduled downtimes after the fact.
- Easier database install options and migrations.
- Advance storage monitoring of virtually used/allocated provisions for a better level of confidence on whole systems.
- Employee efficiency has increased since knowledge transfer is easy after rollout.

We have used Application Manager in the past and still use it for its deeper database monitoring and analysis. It is more costly per its licensing so while SolarWinds has become more feature rich we have been able to reduce our footprint of Application Manager. Application Manager was a good standard to see SolarWinds eclipse.
