Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
Only the IT department uses this. We use it to identify bottlenecks.
- It's good at displaying graphs
- The graphs and displays are very customizable
- It's an integrated solution to the monitoring tool you know and love
- The problems are less with NPM, and more with the difficulty of configuring devices to accurately use it.
- Solarwinds as a product itself needs to improve performance.
- NPM should be able to self deploy.
- When we suspect a problem, we can go to the graphs and see what is happening.
- It lets us plan for capacity, if we need a bigger wan link we can plan for it.
We use Solarwinds for our day to day monitoring, so we naturally went with NPM. We did not evaluate other products.
