Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
SolarWinds NPM has been very helpful for our org. Previously, we had no visual on our network. We often had to get alerted by users who only sometimes report a problem. We were essentially operating blind. Now that we have NPM we can be proactive. NPM offers alerts for not only when a site is down but when a site is experiencing bandwidth issues.
- Bandwidth alerts. Lets you be proactive to problems.
- Alerts that a device has rebooted. This lets you know that it was more than a normal internet outage. There may be power issues.
- Machine learning. NPM listens to the devices over time and creates baselines automatically.
- Too many alerts when a site goes down. Need to be able to fine tune better.
- Less down time. Time is money.
- If a site had a slow connection we often were not alerted until at least a day later by a user. Now we can see the problem happen within an hour. This is a full work day or slow productivity that we can now resolve quickly.
I have not used this product but I started to look into it and its features and pricing.
