Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used to monitor the availability of critical systems of the infrastructure such as Active Directory, DHCP, and servers in remote sites. It's also used to get NetFlow stats on Cisco Routers to get a time slice view of network traffic and bandwidth.

For example, cloud storage. Via SNMP, you get to see server resource usage, i.e., how much CPU is being used throughout the day.
