Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor
We use SolarWinds to monitor our daily operational status throughout the corporation's IT infrastructure. SW is used solely by the IT department. It addresses the need for real-time network information to identify and remedy slowdowns, downed equipment, and maintain heartbeats.
- Real-Time monitoring
- Vast monitoring database
- relatively easy to input nodes
- licensing is very confusing
- the GUI isn't as user-friendly as one would like
- Would like to see better out of box reporting
- lowering downtime by identifying the problem spots
- historical data to see resource hogs
SolarWinds is much more robust out of the box that WhatsUp Gold was, without having to purchase many more modules
