Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

SolarWinds Server and Application monitor is used by the Information Technology Department at our organization. It is used to log and report on issues with various applications in use at our organization. SolarWinds Server and Application monitor also helps the Technology Team troubleshoot and resolve issues with various applications that are being monitored.
  • Easy of installation and configuration
  • Great logging capabilities
  • Makes troubleshooting application related issues simpler
  • Trial and error is required to get the right logging template.
  • Standard template needs customization to remove alerts that are not relevant to your organization (for example, the Active Directory Template includes DNS. If you have a separate DNS appliance and you don't remove this alert, the system thinks DNS is down)
  • Overall, reduced downtime.
  • Increased response time and improved our meantime to repair.
I haven't tested or reviewed other products that compete with SolarWinds Server and Application monitor. Why bother? SolarWinds Server and Application monitor is a complete package and is cost-effective, fully functional, and robust for even the most complicated organizational network and server infrastructure systems.
SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor is well suited for any organization—large, small, and in-between. Whether you have several hundred applications or just a handful, SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor makes monitoring and logging your environment easier. It is not recommended for small businesses with 1 or 2 applications and no server infrastructure.
