Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

We use it to monitor our hosts at the colo for the IT dept. We get alerts on issues such as CPU, memory, and response times. It's good for our applications and detecting issues with our sites. We can proactively fix problems and troubleshoot the things that keep breaking so that everything is stable.

We like to be able to see all the problems and diagnose them in one place. We can combine all our hosts whether at the colo or in the cloud so that we have visibility throughout our entire system. This makes our response time for RPO and RTO much better in our work.
We don't use visualization all that much to look at the relationships. It can be beneficial to diagnose the root cause that leads to downstream issues that will be resolved when the root is fixed and properly mitigated. It has nice pictures to get a holistic view of their system and inner workings.
It's good to get a good baseline to determine what the existing conditions are and then be able to identify outliers and anomalies that occur in the system. We can detect issues with the database or traffic to web servers and can respond to the issue and mitigate problems correctly and quickly.
  • Saves engineering time by 40%.
  • Cut costs by 25%.
  • Improved uptime by 30%.

We use the products together to be able to combine all the views and cover all the infrastructure. This benefits us by having one vendor to help us with any issues and to troubleshoot end to end in our environment. This helps our uptime and makes it easier for our NOC engineers.
It's good to monitor and detect anything that might not be working properly. You can create custom monitors too if you have a specific application to monitor. We can use it with VMware and monitor the virtual machines in our environment. The app stack helps us to see the servers all in a single pane of glass.
