Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have all IT departments involved with the deployment of SolarWinds for proactive monitoring, alerting, and reports for over 100 remote office location and two data centers. Currently, Netflow and Netpath are tools that we are building out and finding a great deal of insight with.

Pros and Cons

Focused alerts.
Network discovery.
Netpath.

There is a lot of information and it can be daunting to know where to start.

Return on Investment

Threshold alerts let us get a jump start on the issues before hearing second hand.
Latency between servers/applications and end users is traceable now.
Reporting is simple and as detailed as you want.

Alternatives Considered

Scrutinizer, Infoblox IPAM for Microsoft and SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM)

Similar feel to NCM. SAM goes hand in hand with NPM and NCM.

Very easy and intuitive to use. There are a lot of options, but after spending some time diving through it all, it seems to flow smoothly.

Has proven to be a great solution that replaces multiple products, rolling them into one system for easy reporting, alerting, and staying on top of systems as they are added.
