Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

[My organization] installed SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor for complete Infrastructure on both physical, virtual, and cloud environments [for] monitoring of system resources utilization [on] over 50+ devices. [It] worked great with Windows and Linux servers and an additional advantage on monitoring some custom-made services with ease. Alerting services helped to a [greater extent] to act in [a] timely fashion. A great and fantastic product to use and recommend to anyone without [needing a] second opinion.

In comparison to Spiceworks [Connectivity Dashboard,] SolarWinds [has] way [more] features and [an] easy-to-use system. ManageEngine [Application Control Plus] also provides a good look [at the] dashboard but needs a lot more enhancements when it comes to real-time monitoring. PRTG [Network Monitor] could be a good competitor for Solarwinds [Server and Application Monitor] and can be rated almost the same. [The] support level of SolarWinds [maintains the] upper hand when the products [are] compared.

A great product for monitoring systems on [a] Windows platform of any version, easy to use and configure. [The] user-friendly discovery services [for] Linux monitoring is made really easy. Custom applications and custom devices monitoring is good but needs to improve a bit in configuration of applications grouping and assigning services to the systems. MAPs need to be enhanced for creation and built-in icons.

SolarWinds prices are [a] bit expensive when compared to other vendor products. Some vendors provide Network monitoring and Server monitoring in a single tool whereas with SolarWinds, [there are] different prices for [each] product. If SolarWinds [could] integrate Network [monitoring] tools and Server monitoring tools into a single license [platform], then it would be [the best option] for users to make an easy decision to go with SolarWinds products.

My complete selection process for SolarWinds products is based on the pricings provided. We have evaluated other vendor products, which are quite competitive with SolarWinds products, but the major difference is [that] the different products of SolarWinds require additional [pricing] whereas the other vendors integrated many tools into a single license.

We have purchased the support during the initial time. Later, [we discovered that] the product was easy-to-use and is a very stable product [that] did not [have] any performance problems, [so] any IT personnel can easily manage [and handle] the product without the support.
The SolarWinds support team is very well educated [on] their product and is very helpful and [patient]. We used the product, SolarWinds [Server and Application Monitor], and twice we encountered serious problems where the support team was very cooperative to help and resolve our issue in [a] timely fashion. Also, the extended support after hours [are] amazing.
There [have been] multiple times when [a] SolarWinds Support representative provided [us] with exceptional support. Once, we had a system crash and the team helped us a lot to restore the data. Secondly, I remember the time when we want to integrate [a] few MAPs into the tool, and the support team was really exceptional.
