Overall Satisfaction with Solarwinds Take Control (formerly SolarWinds MSP Anywhere)
We use Take Control to support our MSP as well as ISP clients both internally and externally. Virtually everyone in the office uses it including our graphic designer if they need to work from home. Being able to use take control in its various capacities allows us to quickly and easily diagnose a multitude of varying issues from misconfigured residential routers to major service outages on our customers systems from anywhere in the world.
Pros
- Easy to use remote support.
- Easily and securely access sensitive systems.
- Easily set-up our end users with the ability to remote access to their own desktops as needed.
Cons
- The end-user interface could be made to be easier to use and more instructions could be provided.
- Cannot send password reset requests for end-users.
- More branding options would be nice for a more seamless customer experience.
- Our existing clients are far more satisfied with the functionality and ease of use with Take Control over other leading competitors' software, and it comes at a far more affordable price point that it's now being offered as a perk to certain clients rather than an addon service.
We were primarily a team-viewer customer before this point but the continued increases on cost, feature issues as well as core functionality and load issues we were beginning to see on the host machines we started looking for other options. As we were already a solar-winds customer utilizing the SAAS and Take Control for our Managed customers it was a no-brainer to look into Take Control. After a short review and the fact that we are already very familiar with the system via our management dashboard, it was an easy yes.
