Overall Satisfaction with SonicWall SonicPoint Wireless Security Access Point

As a managed service provider, we sell and manage Sonicall SonicPoint devices for many clients. Years ago, the product was [an] acceptable solution for providing WiFi access, but over the last 5 years, the product has severely fallen behind its competitors. The device's signal strength has led to frustration from many clients. We eventually decided to switch to another product every chance we have had.
  • Centralized management works well.
  • Integration with SonicWall security appliances is seamless.
  • Security of the devices is better than the average device.
  • Signal strength of the SonicWall devices are very poor.
  • Product support is lacking.
  • Development of features and product improvement is subpar.
  • Signal strength
  • Network Security
  • Ease of management
  • These devices have had a negative impact on our reputation with customers.
  • A large amount of time was spent troubleshooting problems.
  • Multiple promises of improvement by salespeople were unfulfilled.
Ubiquiti products have been much more reliable than SonicPoint devices. Going forward, we will no longer install SonicWall devices. The ROI on these devices are definitely negative. I cannot recommend SonicPoint devices to anyone. We have been much happier with Ubiquiti devices since we started switching our clients to them.

No

Did SonicWall SonicPoint Wireless Security Access Point live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of SonicWall SonicPoint Wireless Security Access Point go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SonicWall SonicPoint Wireless Security Access Point again?

No

I am hard pressed to determine a situation where SonicPoint devices are a good fit. The signal strength of these devices are so poor that we had complaints from customers who switched from cheap, home class devices. The scenario that I could think of where SonicPoint devices would be appropriate would be a situation where companies are using a SonicWall firewall and are mandated to use wireless devices from the same company.
