Overall Satisfaction with Spiff

Personally, I use Spiff every day to make sure my commissions and deal breakdowns are accurate and up-to-date. It saves me a lot of time and effort in tracking my own deal cycles and earning potential. It also assists me in making my own forecasts and essentially allows me to "reverse engineer" my own quota/KPIs. I know our entire sales org used Spiff for similar use cases. Managers also used the tool to keep track of extra incentives and team goals.
  • Easy to use dashboards
  • Provides long-term data/graphs so you can see your earnings over the months/years etc.
  • Detailed deal and commission breakdowns
  • When your commission is coming from multiple places (i.e. deals closed from various reps) it would be nice to have an exact breakdown of which rep/place it is coming from.
  • Links to the deals in Salesforce/other CRMs would be helpful.
  • Ability to calculate and/or show taxes taken from my commissions (This is more of a finance tool feature so not a huge deal it doesn't have it)
  • Decreased amount of manual effort required for salespeople when tracking their own commissions
  • Ensures accuracy to avoid rework and commission/deal breakdown errors
  • Saves a lot of time - both in calculation and by having the ability to instantly see how commissions change each day as deals come through
The tool is very easy to use, yet robust enough to get the job done. I feel like anyone could log in to Spiff without formal training and understand how to use the tool in a matter of minutes. It is a very visual tool and does a great job providing the data and dashboards in a clear-cut way.
I feel my overall trust in the compensation process has certainly increased. I have increased visibility with the added benefit of having my entire comp plan in one place. On top of that, having visuals and hard data make understanding the breakdowns much simpler. Since the entire org uses the tool, communication and alignment have also become easier.
  • Xactly Commission Expense Accounting (CEA)
Spiff has a much cleaner and easy-to-read interface and dashboards. Overall, it just looks nicer and it is much easier to navigate. Xactly had the same functionality but was clunky and full of bugs. The tool went down numerous times and was always slow to add in new deals. Spiff is not only better looking, but it also crashes much less often and seems to be much more accurate (less buggy) in tracking commissions as they come in.
