Overall Satisfaction with SumTotal Core Platform (formerly elixHR)

Our company provides LMS Support for a large company using SumTotal. The whole company uses SumTotal as their primary LMS, about 80K users.
  • Easily customizable notifications
  • TMU tool allows for quick mass uploads
  • Configurable front end
  • JasperSoft Reporting - it is difficult to use and manage.
  • Exams could be more robust. Offering alternate types of questions.
  • Too many clicks on the administrator side. Adding new activities is not intuitive, you need to click through each section to determine what needs to be entered where. Would be better if it was guided for new activities, just prompting for 'required' fields.
  • Having all training/learning records in one tool allows users to have their record follow them when they move in the business. This reduces the need for retraining and time spent on data entry.
SuccessFactors is more user friendly, however their service is less than stellar. SumTotal was chosen because of price and customer service.
If a company requires specific functionality, SumTotal appears unwilling to be flexible.

Using SumTotal Core Platform (formerly elixHR)

We have made an investment in SumTotal and changing our LMS at this point would be costly.

Using SumTotal Core Platform (formerly elixHR)

I do not find SumTotal to be intuitive. I feel we need to adjust our needs to meet the functionality available in the tool.
