Overall Satisfaction

I just started my new job as Program Manager - Strategic Accounts at Betco Corporation. I've not used SurveyMonkey, yet, on my new job, but do plan on utilizing it moving forward. I used Survey Monkey fairly often in my previous job as Field Marketing Project Manager at Staples. I supported sales on the contract side of the business. Primarily, Survey Monkey was used by Field Marketing and Corporate Marketing. I used SurveyMonkey for two primary reasons: 1) Gather information, e.g., RSVP for an event, internal process set-up, contest/program/implementation registration; 2)Solicit feedback, e.g., Customer Satisfaction, internal process feedback, etc. SurveyMonkey helps me in a number of ways: cuts down on the number of email responses by putting information in a neat little package that I can retrieve when I need it. While I'm not quite at the Advanced level, creating a survey is fairly easy and painless. People prefer electronic communications vs. faxing and/or hard-copy forms/surveys to complete.
  • Creating a survey is fairly easy. The Survey Monkey interface is very user-friendly, so most people with a decent computer skill set can navigate the program.
  • I like that I can customize my survey to have the appropriate look and feel for whatever project I'm working on.
  • SurveyMonkey provides numerous options for building an effective survey/form.
  • What if SurveyMonkey had 'pop up' suggestions while you're creating a survey. These pop up messages would be based on intelligence gathered over time. For example, if I am developing a survey question with a rating scale of 1 - 5 and I'm designing it in a way that is not as effective in the 'real world'; say I am using 1 as the most 'positive' answer and 5 a the most 'negative'. Perhaps Survey Monkey would alert me and let me know that, according to statistics, building your rating scale with 1 at the negative end and 5 at the positive end is most intuitive and achieves greater accuracy.
  • Does SurveyMonkey offer training on writing effective surveys?
  • Better customer service by identifying issues that otherwise would go unnoticed.
  • Increased efficiency with internal and external feedback collection.
  • Higher degree of accuracy because feedback is input directly from the right person.

I've used SurveyMonkey because it is the tool my employer provides. Luckily, I'm pretty happy with it. I will use Act-On for electronic registrations, but will continue to use SurveyMonkey for other needs.
My company has an account with auto-renewal.
I love that I can create the survey/form without having to utilize other internal or external resources. I've not run into times when Survey Monkey is less appropriate. The scenarios and uses that seem to fit well for me are outlined in an earlier answer. Again, anything that can help a survey designer, like me, write a more effective survey would be of interest. Even short, YouTube videos that address specific topics, i.e., how to build the best rating scale, what type of questions get the best response, etc.
