Overall Satisfaction

I'm not currently using it but I was using it at two previous companies for a total of about 5 years. It was used across our entire U.S. organization which covered 17 office locations. It addressed our recruiting/talent acquisition needs.
  • Tracks detailed records on applicants who apply for positions. These records are easy to retrieve and help make the recruiting process more efficient
  • Easy to maintain the system since it sits on Taleo's server and not the company's server
  • Integrates easily with the "Careers" web page that the employer uses. Candidates just click the "apply" button from your careers web page and they are linked over to Taleo.
  • Since they were purchased by Oracle, their customer service has gone downhill very quickly. To be blunt, their customer service is really, really poor since the Oracle transition. When they were just Taleo, I had a dedicated account manager who would get back to me within a day of calling him. Since they were purchased by Oracle, it's nearly impossible to find out who your account manager is and nearly impossible to get anyone to respond to your questions.
  • Very difficult to get answers on cost/process to implement new features. I wanted to integrate our background check provider with Taleo, and no one would get back to me with a straight answer on the process or cost
  • Was not very easy to modify the application form that candidates filled out
  • Created a database of candidates for current and future job openings
  • Increased efficiency in terms of tracking resumes, tracking candidate status, communicating with candidates, etc.
  • Better impression on candidates since the system looks professional and captures information easily
  • Oracle PeopleSoft,Silk Road Technologies
People Soft is incredibly expensive. I used it at a firm over 5 years ago. It was an outstanding product, but the cost was extremely high. My current firm uses "Open Hire" within Silk Road Technologies and I like it so far. I'm not sure about cost.
I don't use it anymore, but when I left my last employer we were going to make a change due to the poor customer service.
It can be well suited to purchase the "business edition" for a smaller organization of 1,000 employees or less. We purchased just a couple of user licenses and our annual cost was around $5,000. If you purchase the larger edition and give access to a large number of managers, the cost will be much higher. I would recommend grilling them about customer service and whether or not you will have a dedicated account manager because as I said before, their customer service has really suffered.
