Overall Satisfaction with Taleo
Currently we use Taleo as our applicant tracking system and have recently integrated Transitions as our onboarding system. We don't use it across the organization, it is only used by Talent Acquisition for applicant tracking and onboarding. Unlike other users, we don't grant hiring manager access to the system. Taleo addresses our need for applicants to apply to our open roles and the ability to track them through the hiring process. We recently added Transitions and were able to integrate it into our SAP system which we use for our ERP. The project itself was difficult, but we were the first to do it which was expected.
- Taleo seems to be the standard for the industry and from the Recruiting module standpoint, it follows the process quite well.
- Taleo has a host of features that can be customized and since it is one of the most widely used, it has a wider choice of vendors (background, jobposting, etc.) that can integrate with it.
- Taleo is easily accessible via the web so it's readily available wherever you may be.
- Uploading job profiles from Word should be easier without having to edit.
- System integrations can be challenging and time consuming, especially if you have a large number of UDFs (User Defined Fields).
- Customer service sometimes takes longer to get back then we would like.
- The move to Transitions for our onboarding has been a lot of work to get both the technology and processess to align. Now that we are 5 months into it we are starting to see the benefits. I think it's creating a better experience for our candidates and it has helped us to keep managers aware of the status of their new recruits.
I wasn't part of the initial team to select Taleo. However, I've used it with 3 companies that I've worked for. Most of the other systems were in-house systems so it's hard to compare, but I can say I do like Taleo.
