Overall Satisfaction with Tenable.sc (formerly SecurityCenter)

Tenable is our current vulnerability management solution. It is currently used by the IT department, but it is scanning our entire environment. With Tenable we resolved our visibility issues where we did not have a good idea of all devices in our environment. We are also getting a good picture of all vulnerabilities and required patches on all server, network devices, and laptops.

  • Tenable could make it easier to report on missing reg key.
  • Tenable can also make it easier to report on os level patches vs application patches.
  • Easy to implement.
  • Competitive pricing vs competitors.
We decided to go with Tenable due to its robust reporting capabilities and competitive pricing vs its competitors. While all tools are very similar in regards to scanning capabilities we prefer Tenable SC's user interface. We also like the option to have both on-prem and cloud with theirs. Tenable io product as well.
I believe Tenable can improve overall when it comes to supporting. The current method requires a login and submission of a ticket with some online chat support as well. Though the online chat feature is really helpful the option of submitting a ticket and waiting for a response can take some time. I have witnessed very long wait times and a lot of back and forth via email to get a certain issue resolved.

Tenable is well suited in environments where upper-level management is heavily involved and interested in vulnerability management. As it has exceptionally easy to read and understand reports and dashboards for execs to digest and read.
