Overall Satisfaction with Text-Em-All

We use it mostly to send urgent and important updates to our internet service subscribers or our infrastructure hosting subscribers. Typical reasons include planned maintenance, outages, information regarding their services or payments. We also occasionally use it to update subscribers with non-urgent news or information such as new features or availability.

Pros

  • technical support
  • general support
  • ease of use

Cons

  • mobile application- responsiveness and accuracy
  • mobile application- functionaility
  • quickly send bulk text to lots of people on short notice
  • shared 1-on-1 texting that all of our employees have access to simultaneously
  • higher customer service ratings being able to receive support fast and over text
Twilio was difficult to get started with and use easily. seems like it might have more advanced capabilities than we might need and we were unsuccessful in even getting out account working for a test/trial

well suited for short free text messages, can quickly get expensive
needing to send lengthy information with lots of characters to 200+
contacts. Also, we do have a need to occasionally send pictures,
videos/media files and hyperlinks. The one time we sent a hyperlink our
number was flagged and removed from all verizon based numbers and we
were unable to communicate with those people for a period of a few weeks
until it was resolved. I assume this might be unavoidable and on the
carrier side so we have intentionally stayed away from sending anything
that is not plain text out of fear of that happening again
