Okta is the Best Choice for Your Identity Platform

Okta is enabling us to transition from our on-premise AD directory/identity-centric approach to a cloud-based IDP. Okta is mastered from our AD and allows us to give single sign-on and adaptive MFA to all our users. We use these authentication methods both with on-premise workloads on managed computers as well as enabling people to access certain cloud-based workloads from unmanaged (personal) machines. We can centralize our identity management and give our users the same sign-on experience across numerous systems. The plan is to integrate all auth with Okta over time.

We chose Okta specifically because it was neutral and dedicated to identity. It works with everything from Microsoft, Google, AWS, and anything you think of without any limitations (unless they are from the far-end vendor). This allows us to have a competitive advantage and choose the platforms we want for our associate and customer experiences without any vendor ecosystem lock-in.

Okta's pre-sales team was highly knowledgable and engaged in positioning the product. Their customer success process is a little weak as we rarely hear from our Okta team. They only seem to engage around renewal times. We are satisfied with the product, but we consider this to be something we have to learn to leverage ourselves with help from VARs, MSSPs, and Partners.

We rely on this uptime and have not experienced any Okta cloud outages since implementation. This is a requirement as strong authentication is something that cannot be bypassed in our Zero Trust stack.
