Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM

TIBCO ActiveMatrix is used by the company for mapping processes and for data visualizations. The product is mostly used by analysts to map out what they are doing in connection with other parts of the economy. The data visualization is a secondary component that helps analysts and managers see what is going on.

Pros

  • TIBCO ActiveMatrix is most useful in getting analysts to talk with each other.
  • The software is quite user-friendly. Analysts with no programming experience can work with the software.
  • The data visualization of the backend data is helpful.

Cons

  • By being so user-friendly, customizing the software is more difficult that it needs to be.
  • The software is also not perfect on modeling suggestions.
  • TIBCO ActiveMatrix also takes a long time to open. A looooong time.
  • ActiveMatrix has a positive benefit in that it has facilitated communication among groups.
  • The software has been very useful in analyzing possible outcomes.
  • For clients with no interest in improving their processes, the software is not worth it.

No training or support was provided with TIBCO ActivMatrix. The software is fairly easy to learn given its point and click user interface. It is also helpful to be able to use outside programmers my languages within the software.
I think TIBCO’s ActiveMatrix works the best with advanced users because of ActiveMatrix’s data modeling and data visualization capabilities. The software seems to have a lower user base. With that said, the software is just as user-friendly, if not more so, than competing products. For people thinking about, make sure you have a professional analyst that can devote to managing the software.
TIBCO ActiveMatrix is most useful for teams that need help mapping out their processes with other, co-dependent teams. It makes that conversation happen in a logical, structured way. The software is also helpful for professionals that need more data visualization in their business. On the opposite side, the software is not useful for really small businesses. It’s not worth the money.
