Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Cloud Integration (including BusinessWorks and Scribe)

Across the whole organization; mostly for demo/proof of concepts for potential clients (OTT, Inc. is a Scribe partner)
  • Multiple connection options, as well as customization of your own connectors.
  • Allowed for connecting to various systems, even a client's old legacy COBAL based system.
  • REST and allowance to create custom connections, allowed us to close several client deals.
  • Training for custom connector building is limited.
  • If you are not a developer, learning to create custom connections is something you may have to outsource; it has a very steep learning curve.
  • Some of the basic connectors (i.e. MS Dynamics GP) are a bit more limited than the on-premise version for Scribe Insight.
  • Positive; many clients have reduced the amount of time used to integrate data via older solutions, such as GP Integration Manager
  • Automation of integrations, allows for users to have a more hands off approach; just review error alerts/logs and see expected data in target system, with minimal work.
  • Allowed for a client to be able to generate several hundred orders/invoices on a monthly basis, without user input.
  • Scribe - CRM system to ERP system
  • Dynamics CRM
  • Dynamics GP

None for real-world use; but have looked some for an overview.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Product reliability; since we are a partner, it is important that we recommend solid solutions, otherwise we loose client support and thus impacts our bottom line.
  • Connecting Shopify to Dynamics GP
  • Building/Refreshing on-premise data warehouse from Cloud ERP/CRM
  • Online training
  • Self-taught
We have various clients that have moved to Scribe; and on average they are saving 20-30 hours of manual work per month. This is allowing their employee's to focus on other more productive business issues, without having to handle the mundane data entry, these integrations replaced. This has also, improved and reduce user input errors..
One key lesson is to build your integrations out, on paper, before logging into the tool. Creating this road map, is important and saves you lots of potential wasted time.
Well suited for point to point schedule integrations, somewhat limited on real-time integrations (without a lot of customization at the source).

Evaluating TIBCO Cloud Integration (including BusinessWorks and Scribe) and Competitors

Using TIBCO Cloud Integration core features

The features that we, as an organization, prefer the most are:
1. Easy of use - the tool is easy to use and can be taught (at a basic level) to most end users; not requiring a huge understanding of computer programming.
2. Logging - the tool has vast logging mechanism built in; though the alert aspects could be improved
3. Connectors - the number of available connectors, allows for many integrations, that are just not possible with other tools.
There are many good features, but one that was not utilized much to begin with, is the ability to re-do/reprocess failed integration records, from the logging screens. In the past, we had users that would have failures, in file integrations and they would manually update the file, removing processed records and then attempt to do the failures over; once they were able to use this feature, it cut down user intervention time.
As of now, it appears that TIBCO is far ahead of others with a true cloud based system. 80% of our clients use Scribe over SmartConnect (our next biggest user tool) and of those 80%, 50% are using the cloud version. Currently, we have many SmartConnect users, looking to move to a cloud based solution and they are leaning towards TIBCO, due to the vast difference in functionality between it and the next closed competitor.

Using TIBCO Cloud Integration (including BusinessWorks and Scribe)

2 - Currently, we have one developer (.NET, SQL) and a CRM consultant.
  • Migration of our on-premise CRM to cloud CRM
  • Integration of CRM and ERP
  • Demo for potential clients
Of the integration tools reviewed, this one is preferred; 80% of our current clients use either the on-premise version or the cloud version of Scribe for integrations. The others are either using SmartConnect or custom integrations via SQL or .NET; of those we are always pushing for them to move to a true integration tool.
