Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TIBCO Data Virtualization is used across departments to visualize performance indicators. We have various performance indicators. For instance in our new support center we are registrering the origins for each instance triggering the support request in order to find the best technicians for the job. With the visualization it's possible to easily identify who has the most success on different kinds of support requests, and this way we get happier customers.

Pros and Cons

Graphics are more appealing than large tables of numbers, and often easier to spot trends in data when visualized.
Data can come from many sources, and Tibco is good at merging data from different sources and by that allowing new analysis to be made.
When first setup and you have a constant flow of data, it is really simple to use the knowledge from your own data, that you weren't able to do before.

Performance

Many different companies deliver solutions for data handling, and recently I have seen other setups I have been even more impressed by. Not that I'm not very happy with our current solution from Tibco, but of course improvements can be made here and there. Ease of use can for instance be improved in some aspects of the user interface.

A company using many different IT-systems generates data from all systems, and having the ability to take all this data and put it one place and then analyze it creates opportunities far beyond what can be described in a few sentences.

It is a heavy solution with more features. It offers visuals that are great and easy for others to understand which is important when setting goals for each department in the company.
