Logic built into recommendation engine is not useful - hit and miss.
Spotfire has a strong presence in the energy industry and change is gradual.
Intuitive data transformation steps available to cover 80% of analysis needs.
It's only updated once every year, which means bugs may not be fixed in reasonable time. Run time is slower than open-source R.
Great for visualizing data sets under 1 MM rows; beyond that it's not as performant as other tools such as Mapbox
