Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used by our ERP department which supports the PeopleSoft software for HCM, Finance, and Supply chain. I don't know of other groups within BJC that are using it. We use it to run queries that are too large too run in PeopleSoft and take too much time to generate results in PeopleSoft.

Pros and Cons

Toad runs queries much faster than the PeopleSoft system can
Toad does not lock up my system while it is running a query and I am still able to do other things

I have not encountered anything that I feel needed to be improved; it has worked well for me when needed

Return on Investment

It has prevented users from crashing the PeopleSoft system with long run queries

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for queries that will pull back a large amount of data. We use it a lot for payroll data when users want a whole year's worth of information on our 32,000+ employees
