Overall Satisfaction with Toad for Oracle
I mainly use Toad to access our Oracle database. The Oracle database is hosting all of the legacy data. Not many people in the organization use it. The main purpose of using Toad was to export legacy data.
- The interface offers a lot of customization options.
- Connecting time to the server was on par with other database software.
- Exporting wizard is easy to use.
- Query run time were extraordinarily long. Though It could be caused by lack of support on the legacy database.
- User interface is too busy, difficult to navigate and sometimes confusing
- Common function NOLOCK is not recognized
- We needed Toad because we need to access legacy Oracle data at times. So in that aspect, the software seals the gap.
- I spent a relatively longer time to learn to use the software for basic functions since its connection options were difficult compare to other Database software
Toad definitely had a lot of customization and functionality, unfortunately it is also where it falls short on user interface and usability for beginner and intermediate users.
