Overall Satisfaction with Toast Point of Sale

We used it not only as a POS within the restaurant for staff use but also as a remote ordering system for takeout orders on our website for customer use. It helped to run daily sales reports, keep track of inventory, as well as track staff hours since this is also what they used to clock in and out for their shifts.
  • The training materials on the site itself help you understand the product and how to use it most efficiently. Was especially helpful when training staff when we first brought the product onboard.
  • Easily allow you to add items and their associated prices, descriptions, and photos, which helped maximize the information provided for customers ordering online.
  • The inventory tracking was especially helpful not just for efficient service, but also for accountability with staff.
  • The customer service aspect. The chat feature on the website has long wait times, which isn't ideal in a restaurant setting when everything that's happening is so fast-paced. If an issue arises, swift solutions are key.
  • The actual design of the POS is quite plain, very grey and boxy. All functional, no fashion.
  • Sales tracking
  • Time tracking
  • Training videos
  • Was able to provide our own takeout option as opposed to only having third-party services for this, which saved us money in fees to those companies.
Toast is less elementary than Aloha and Focus which are very simple and old school. Toast is pretty on par with Square POS as far as function, however, Square is more aesthetically pleasing than Toast is.

Yes

Did Toast Point of Sale live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Toast Point of Sale go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Toast Point of Sale again?

Yes

Worked well within the restaurant and as a website ordering system. But when using QR codes for a distanced service style during Covid, we did run into issues with guests starting open tabs rather than having to pay in full before receiving their food and drink. Gave more of a fast-food vibe, rather than a more refined dining experience.
