Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Tovuti LMS to deliver online training to the public and internal staff. We needed a SCORM-compliant and reasonably priced learning management system in which to house, create and distribute content to internal and external participants. We wanted a sleek interface that almost any level of user would find intuitive.

Pros and Cons

Responsive technical support staff normally turns a ticket around within 4 hours.
Extensive technical support documentation available via their online learning library.
The package includes an extensive list of available features across a variety of learning types.

Admin interface is very cumbersome and hard to use.
The white-labeling abilities are limited but over-marketed.
Tovuti LMS nickel and dimes clients to death. So many things come to light as a 'custom' or 'for-free' add-on after the contract is signed.

Usability

The in-platform authoring tool really isn't an authoring tool. It is a content management system/database that requires you to build each and every component of your course under another tab and remember and correctly string them together. You can't author anything directly into a Tovuti LMS course. Everything is its own separate 'thing.'

Support Rating

Tovuti LMS support is excellent and they turn around questions quickly. The system confirms submission and the team follows up with touch points and explanations. Many issues are unfortunately always a ‘paid enhancement’.

Alternatives Considered

Moodle, Open LMS, Canvas and Docebo Learning Suite

It doesn’t, but we use a group review and an attractive interface won over.

Tovuti LMS is excellent for organizations with limited knowledge on how to build their public-facing pages and those that produce limited amounts of content. Tovuti LMS is hard to use in organizations with specific white-labeling needs or who produce larger amounts of material for distribution. The system is highly cumbersome and doesn't function as a traditional learning management system. Tovuti's customer support team is lacking in responsiveness, but the technical support team works very hard to answer questions.
